Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-01

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Crazy Bee Labs ("we", "us") handles personal data when you use our website, download our software, or contact our support. Crazy Bee Labs is an independent EU-based software studio. The data controller is [Legal entity name], [Registered address], reachable at support@crazybeelabs.com. For any privacy question you may contact us at that address. We do not have a statutory Data Protection Officer, but privacy requests are handled directly by our team.

Privacy-first by design

Our macOS and iPhone apps are built to process your content on your device. The data you create or open inside an app generally stays on your device and is not sent to us. Our website only collects the limited information needed to run accounts, deliver downloads, manage licenses, process payments, and provide support. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

What we collect and why

Account data: your email address and a hashed password, so we can create and secure your account. Download data: an email address captured when you download an app, so we can deliver it and manage your trial. Licensing data: which product and plan a license covers, its status, and the device activation state, so licenses work correctly. Support data: the content of messages you send us and related contact details. Newsletter data: your email address, only if you choose to subscribe. Technical data: basic server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) needed for security and reliability.

Legal bases

We rely on the following GDPR legal bases. Performance of a contract, to provide your account, downloads, licenses, and updates. Legitimate interests, to secure our site, prevent abuse, and answer support requests. Consent, for the optional newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time. Legal obligation, where we must retain certain records, for example tax and accounting records related to your purchases.

Payments and Merchant of Record

Purchases are handled by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record and reseller and is the seller of record for your order. This means Paddle processes your payment and manages billing and applicable VAT or sales tax. When you buy a license, Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information under its own privacy policy as an independent controller. We receive confirmation of the purchase and the associated license, but we do not receive or store your full card details.

Third parties and hosting

We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed. These include Paddle (payments and billing), our website and database hosting provider [Hosting / database provider, e.g. Neon], and our email delivery provider [Email provider]. These providers act as processors on our behalf, except Paddle which acts as an independent controller for payment processing. Where data is transferred outside the EU or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

We keep account and license data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Support messages are kept for a reasonable period to handle follow-up and improve support. Purchase and invoicing records are retained as required by tax law, typically several years. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email support@crazybeelabs.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in France this is the CNIL.

Cookies

Our website uses only the cookies needed to make it work, such as keeping you signed in and maintaining your session. We do not use advertising cookies. Paddle may set cookies during checkout to process your payment securely. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at support@crazybeelabs.com.
